Great capture, like the b/w. I almost think that the DOF hurts a bit in this photo, I wonder how it would look with the trees in the background a bit out of focus?

I'll start by saying nice choice for this challenge, I really like the medallion. Shadows play nice in this photo and are not overwhelming the main subject. Only thing that is going against you I feel is the color seems a bit off in the sand. Otherwise, good job!

I gave this an 8 while voting was on. Why? First I felt it fit the challenge (seems to be harder to do for some) and I liked how clean the shot looked. I feel the train is well represented and the surroundings are unique. I think having the road in this shot actually helps it, the train and road are following the same path. The freeway / parking lights in the upper left are a bit distracting but not too bad IMO. Good job, hope to see more from you in the future!

NO WAY! I had one of these! This is sooooo! cool! I even had the game you are playing! Good shot, the only thing I'm not thinking is "totally cherry" in this shot is the shadow to the right of the TV and that the TV really isn't from 83 but hey you had to save the Intellivision right? GOOD LUCK!

1869 - The Golden Spike

Okay, I've browsed through all of the entries, IMHO this HAS GOT TO PLACE IN THE TOP THREE! Beautiful photo, I really like the woman in the white dress, she stands out well but is not too distracting. The driving of the spike is well captured; the detail in the trains is just amazing. The one thing about this picture that is a bit off is the sidewalk, but even that really didn't jump out at me off the bat. Great job, I really, really hope this places, you deserve it!
