I have been using my 50mm 1.4 lens for a while and I am just getting in touch with this effect you've used here ... A subtle edge is the result of slowly losing focus at the perimeter as the object gets out og the range of focus ... the result is visually appealling and I like it here. I think if the center was brighter (more contrast) it would give it a punch.

Never heard of 'em ... Anyway, about the image :] ... The grainy bits on the petals definitely make these look like a gritty statue ... the contrast between the normally soft petals and the new-found texture found in the photo is very interesting and should prove positive among voters, I would think. 8

The lighting is out of this world, the hair is excellent as well as the skin. The complementary colors are great ... Not seeing the mouth due to a flower being stuffed there just kills this for me ... I get it, I think ... but visually it just doesn't help it. I want to like it more than I do ... technically perfect, but doesn't have great appeal to me overall ... I'm sure if the flower wern't there you'd have people saying that the focus wasn't on the flowers.
