Greetings from the critique club.

My first reaction when I saw your photo was the reflection, its a great reflection, and I would have loved it if it was more the focus of the image. The shoes themselves are great, and I like the choice of socks.

As you mentioned in your description, the background is a drawback. Not so much that it isnt blurred, but because the cloth itself is wrinkled and folded. An all black background would have been nice as well.

The score overall is pretty decent too. You placed 27th out of 120, or the 78th percentile... not too bad at all.

Keep shooting and submitting.

Hmmm... I hadnt even thought to turn it sideways... probably because when I took this photo, this was right side up. Mental note.... from now on, I must turn my monitor on its side :)

A non-traditional shot, and interesting take on the challenge. At first, I didnt like how dark the hand was, but then considering that you are 1Km underground, it seems much more accurate.

Ive come back to this photo a few times now, and find it difficult to rate and comment on. While the rocks/stones are definitely geology, my own perceptions of geology would suggest something much larger, like a cliffside, or mountain range. So, in the end, I will only leave a comment.
