Had a Wild Hairby rox_roxComment: Very well done portrait Roxanne! The lighting is very well done. The color balance is perfect and all the tones are true. Composition is also well done - your placement in the frame is great and the angles/lines of your shoulders/neck/head make it all come together. Very well done! I like it...(and although I love the lubber shot, you are definitely more pleasing to look at.) As Art said, underrated...very underrated. |

CKeller_002bw_small.jpgby Mal37Comment: Comes across very different in b/w. I liked the color version but this version appears to be more spontaneous for some reason. Nice work! |

CK_007_small.jpgby Mal37Comment: If this was a little sharper/crisper, I could see this as the shot. His expression while dragging on the cigar is pure satisfaction and totally "I enjoy this!" or "This is what I am about..." Being closer the balance is much better with the negative space. The pose is relaxed in appearance and he looks at ease - just being himself. |

CK_008_small.jpgby Mal37Comment: A little too distant for your subject in my opinion. He has a strong profile and a lot of character in his presence. This kind of leaves him trying to compensate for the large negative space. Still a nice composition and well shot. It certainly speaks to a mood and personality. Nice image. |

The hand of a Master Falconerby MacDonaldComment: Very nice detail, color and composition. The blood on the hand really puts this into a 'setting/environment' and adds a greater sense of reality to the scene as opposed to it being staged. Well done!
Ok..bumped up a notch or two. |

Get Lost in a Good Bookby L1Comment: Originally posted by Jutilda: SWEET! Looks like the cover of a book or poster encouraging kids to read. |
Funny you say that since the first thing I thought of was The Chronicles of Narnia or the Harry Potter Books - in a bookstore window, a poster of this shot with some slogan encouraging kids to read with suggested titles. |

Get Lost in a Good Bookby L1Comment: I really like this crop. It puts him right in the scene and keeps him the focus. His expression, pose, apparent mood are perfect for the scene and the composition from this crop seems stronger than the others. This has a lot of emotive force not present in the others. You can feel his presence in the scene and image one similar for yourself to be in. Very strong in my opinion. Very nice photo Laurie! Well done! Message edited by author 2006-05-15 17:19:00. |
