Going Grungeby SJCarterComment: Very nice work here! Great shot and excellent post processing. The color levels really work in this shot - well done. Composition/crop couldn't be better. Excellent shot to work with grunge - really makes you stand out. Again, very well done! |

Lonelyby SJCarterComment: I am not usually a fan of stylish borders...but this really works for this shot. I like your take on train tracks. A very simple subject that can conjur up many images. But the presentation is the key. Again you have a nice S curve in the tracks - well done! The bridge is in perfect placement/perspective. Especially since neither end can be seen. Great eye for the shot! Looking at the shot I get the feeling that it is dead of winter, just no snow yet. The b/w is perfect as well. Great shot! |

Fawning Barnby SJCarterComment: I really like the desat work in this shot. The remaining color is so subtle it really keeps you focused on the subject. The detail in the texture of the siding is excellent. Makes you draw back for fear of a splinter. My only criticism would be the crop - perhaps place the building slightly off center to one side or the other. Well done! |

Distance & Lengthby SJCarterComment: Great shot! First, I am a fan of trains, so this scores right off the bat. BUT...it is such a great shot - the perspective is totally unique which gives it an element not found often; the curve of the tracks is classic and also not found often in pics - usually one turn, but not an S curve; the smoke in the distance where the train has left the shot is perfect - leaves you wondering if the shot is 'new' or 'old' and it is an old steam engine pulling the load. Maybe a little too much on the sharpening...not sure. A b/w version might be worth a try as well - the shot can hold up I am sure. Very well done! |

Around Every Cornerby rox_roxComment: I really like this shot. It is very expressive. My only criticism would be perhaps a crop so less of the black water in the foreground. Maybe a bump up on the saturation to bring out the colors in the sunset. Nice composition. The tree on the left gives it good perspective. |

Hobo Heavenby SJCarterComment: This is such a nice shot and a totally serene setting. I saw your title and instantly thought of the Ernest Borgnine/Lee Marvin movie. Great shot! |
