Brushedby StrontiousComment: You hit the challenge on the head with this one (in terms of lighting/composition etc), however it seems everything has a tiny bit of blur (possibly handshake?). This detracts from the overall feel of the image. However, in a challenge where the majority of people have misinterpreted `low-key` as `underexposed`, this stands out. I am not going to lie and say you will ribbon with this image, but I wouldnt be surprised to see you in the top 20. Which in a challenge with over 200 entries, is something to be pleased about. Well done. |

Cathedral Rockby ArtifactsComment: Very `Ansel Adams` although Landscapes dont generally tend to lend themselves to low key shots. |

S h e l l :: F l o w e rby CutterComment: This would of worked a lot better with just the shell on its own. I am thinking that you have had a number of people say that already. Really, slightly deeper DOF and just the shell would of earned this an 8. However the flower is REALLLY distracting and lowers this to an average 5.. good try. |

Does not meet the challenge
Is uninspiring
Is nothing more than a snapshot.

Sleeping beautyby ClayaComment: its a pity the background is more in focus than the foreground subject. maybe this was your intention?? if so then it doesnt work as well for me.. nice try though. |

Flowersby shadowdoc31Comment: almost a very good photo. Would of been better if you had managed to `black out` the background totally so only the flowers were in view.. And then maybe had more `delicate` lighting on them, so the edges of the petal were more prominant than the whole thing.. nice try - 6 |

SHADOW BOXERby AlexSaberiComment: Nice use of dark/light. It works very well with the gritty subject matter. Nice pose. (10) |

Gridlockby squiresnComment: If the person had been unlit, so just the lines were exposed creating a `face` this would of been a lot more effective.. maybe even a finer grid would work better. Defintely something I might try at a later time. good idea, with better implementation it would be awesome. |
