Also called: Widows Tears
I would be lucky to find any of these blooming in the wild at this time in my area, they usually bloom a bit earlier than August, however they are also cultivated in some gardens, which sometimes can prolong them. Some variation of colour can sometimes be evident - they can be a lighter blue or white. This is an excellent flower, I find them in dry hillsides & near RR tracks. |

DSC01359wk30.jpgby salmiakkiComment: I like the extra contrast for this view. The "over sharpened" gravure effect lends a bit of an etched quality. I love this complex translucent crosshatched roof, which contributes to the scene but does not dominate. |
