Shades of Greenby admart01Comment: The crop is ok, but I have a bias for full-frame ..... Clean green - excellent texture - simple, elegant frame, beautiful work. |

Glowby admart01Comment: ........ the apparent aperature limitations you have described for full clarity leaves you only an option to utilize selective focus - I think pretty well done on this one. (ursula certianly uses this technique effectively) Composition is quite good, as is what appears as the lucious red/orange natural colour - It looks to be very natural.. . Or a drastic alternative as in "painted display" in your portfolio, to apply some effect - (which I like a lot, but might have been a detriment during voting) My suggestion for "Glow" or a similar situation where advanced editing is allowed, is to implement some slight selective blur to complement and interact with the selective focus. In Photoshop (8 bit) select a background area and try smart blur. |

Dirtyby tpocComment: This pic I see is intended as social comment, though some what isolated from environmental context, not entirely. I think it is acceptable as much as a sculpture would be acceptable..... I think the dq ruling as literal representation might apply only if intention to deceive a viewer is absolutely pronounced and demonstrated. Not so on this foto. The beauty of graffiti is the tenacity - that it keeps getting reborn even after being erased, covered, painted over and DQ'd..... |

Morning Swimby amberComment: I enjoy this... in the context of the circle, but also by bringing the (human form) swimmer nicely into the composition. Good work. |

Hydrangeaby admart01Comment: Strong background saturation i find attractive it sublimates your field, but with plenty of detail - Your beautiful hydrangea, admitedly under flat light lacks the balanced tonal vitality of the background. Possibly sharpness in the file is partially to blame, but I think you could coax some more dynamic qualities from that bloom. |
