really very cute, but even if this was a pet photo challenge i think the photo would be just okay. you have a great subject, but with the background at an odd angle, the comforter the puppy is sitting on distracts from the dog, and (most importantly) the lack of importance of color in the photo, it falls just too short of the objectives of the challenge.

boy, your company is really efficient. mine wasted my boss and his boss's time for half an hour so they could give me essentially the same message (and i had to immediately return my blackberry). nicely shot, although if you had done the lighting a little differently maybe you could have reduced the shadows.
