Failure in a Grilby LupetteComment: Very nice selecting desaturation, but I really don't get a sense of failure. She looks like a beautiful girl with an entire future ahead. This one would have worked better with some tattered clothes and a dirty alley. It is a great image that is very, very well composed. It just doesn't hit me as a failure. It's more of a passing sadness. Still, a top quality image. |

Defeatedby atomicshedComment: Nice composition and exposure. I get more of a tired sense than I do of failure. I think that if the happy guy running were a bit closer, the failure would be more obvious. He almost blends right into the crowd. |

Lostby dabidejpnComment: Man, I've been there. Waiting on the laundry and contemplating where the why the hell I let life lead me to this spot. Great job with the toning. You produced a great photograph that is full of emotion. I can't tell if that's a slight tilt or a very wide lens, but it is a little distracting. I think that its a tilt to the right. |

Lessons Learned Youngby beermanComment: Excellent! Priceless body expression and really nice composition. The image is just a little too soft, and I'd like to see the stairs level and without that right hand tilt. Wonderful colors and toning. |

Levee Failure - New Orleansby kenskidComment: Powerful image with a great photojournalism feel. There is almost too much to look at in the scene. I'd like to see one particular area of failure isolated for the challenge. |

The Falling Kingby vienComment: Nice lighting, but the composition is a bit too centered for me. I like your depth of field use to isolate the failure from the success. Good job. |

Couldn't catch a cold..by owenComment: Great toning and excellent silhouette capture. To me, this failure is still a success. If it were me, I'd feel successful in the fact that I sat fishing all day without working even a little bit. Still, a superb image that should finish very strongly. |

Ashlandsby xantangummiComment: You captured a very well-composed, very strong image, but I have a hard time understanding its relation to failure. Keep in mind that the average voter spends very little time on each image. The challenge really needs to jump out. Still, great capture. I just don't get it. |

Just one piece...by DjabordjaborComment: The lighting is a great strength of this image. Everything about the subject is perfectly isolated off of the background. I like that. I would like to see more of the guy and his great expression. Composed like this, the head look oddly out of place. |
