4...I love how the clouds look, very painterly. That being said, it conjures nothing of what the book is actually about. For me, this photograph is more about finding a title to suit an image. i think it might be a little over sharpened too. I can't tell for sure, if it's that or some sort of filter effect.

4...Oh I wish I could give you more, because I do like your idea, and the fact that you did more than merely search out a title to match an image. This tells me you know a bit of what's going on between the covers. I've handed you a 4 becasue I think this is poorly crafted. There is that weird little hot white pixel above the left side of his head. There is also a grayish one right above the left thumb. Maybe it's stuff on the ground, but it could have been cloned or healed away. There is also a haloing around some edges, perhaps from over sharpening. It's also noisy. I don't mind some natural looking grain sort of noise, and sometimes digital noise works, but for this image I don't care for it. Lastly, the B&W conversion is quite flat. I think a simple levels or curve adjustment might help that. Simple little technical fixes would make this quite a nice little photograph.

7...omg...she is fabulous. Under that leopard print scarf I know there must be some even more fabulous hair. A nit pick, the crop. I think I would enjoy this more squared up. And I would be remiss not to mention the Snow White-ness of it, or lack there of...but she's just so wonderful and ready for fashion battle.

7...I've come back to this a few times. I love the skeleton, the delicate-ness of it. What I don't care for is the vignette, or maybe more of how the vignette is done. A more careful darkening around the remains would have been more effective I think, not the typical/generic bring-in-the-darkness-from-the-corners sort of thing. I also think a careful B&W conversion could be stunning. As far as the novel inspiration part...it works for me, everything's allegory.

8...I like this so much I don't even care if it has anything to do with a novel or not, though the quote does work nicely with it. Wait, I'm bumping this to a 9 now...it's the stain, the magic of the stain. I'm back, to add this to my favorites. I'm bumping to a 10. It made me come back and that's something. 10.

7...these photographs have always seemed magical to me. Perhaps I'm to much a romantic...and the fact that spiders don't freak me out helps too. A little queen sits atop her web full of pearls waits for dinner to come her way.

6...or maybe 7...this is growing on me as I look at it. At first the yellow seemed garish but as I let it settle in, it grows on me. I particularly like it in contrast with the deep blacks. 7

4...this is just too crunchy. It lacks the atmosphere I would expect from something inspired by Wuthering Heights. It's a not terribly well composed image of a stone building in bright dappled sunlight and is that a cyclone fence over on the left? Doesn't really conjured the Yorkshire moors for me.

10...you've captured it. It's a memory, a future, a past and a passing thought all wrapped up in a piece of silken chiffon.
