On Golden Pondby dtremainComment: 4...Seem like a title only reference to me. Technically speaking, to me it seems a bu\it overexposed. A different time of day might have added some atmosphere to the scene....early morning...mid evening. This appears to be that harsh mid day sort of light that flattens everything out. |

Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourtby illini75Comment: 6...great textures and a nice snappy B&W conversion. The distortion of the parallels bothers me a bit, but things like that can be remedied in PS. |

A la recherche du temps perdu - Marcel Proustby mariucaComment: 4...I'm not familiar with the novel, but the leaves fit the title nicely I suppose. The texture of those leaves is fantastic. What ruins it for me is the edge of the MDF looking shelf they're sitting on. Same shelf also isn't quite level. And the strange plasticy texture in the background fights the organic-ness of those beautiful leaves. I tight crop of those mingled leaves would have lovely, and fitting I think. |

A Clockwork Orangeby emoonsComment: 3...cute idea, it's just not what I was looking for with this challenge. The lighting could use some work...it seems a bit harsh and flat all at the same time. Natural light might have been a better choice. |

Blindness - José Saramagoby Alex_PetriniComment: 6...Its freaky, and kind of cool. But the eyes remind me of the whole werewolf/vampire thing that is so popular now. It would have been interesting to portray the "white blindness" of the afflicted. The B&W conversion has nice pop, and the rain is quite lovely. |

Brave New World - Aldous Huxleyby DamonComment: 6...I love the light pouring through the trees. This conjures nothing of the novel for me. The HDR effect is almost too much for my taste. |

Gullby lunachickenComment: Every time I see a photo of a seagull like this, I'm reminded of summers at my grandfathers in Plymouth, MA...of how they would dive bomb us trying to steal our clams while eating at the Clam Hut...good times. |
