At Last Light by PedroComment: This is one of my absolute favorite images in the challenge. I really like the unusual perspective, very effective. The only thing that seems a little odd/distracting is the area by the front horses face, perhaps some cloning happened here? Even still, this is a great picture! |

Mothby shutterflyComment: This is a WONDERFUL image...so "odd"...ethereal actually. For me it has a somewhat abstract quality about it, which is quite appealing in this case. I like that the subject isn't in your face obvious...this is an image that demanded more of my attention. When I first came upon this picture when I was voting, I actually cocked my head to one side and moved closer to the screen and thought to myself... " what is this...what do we have here?... I love it!"...excellent job, very elegant. |

One man and his dogby sidpixelComment: A two fer! A silhouette and a shadow. I really like the starkness of the image. The B & W is extremely effective. This image has a great late night mood to it, suggested by the starkness and that touch of "grain". The light on the brick wall is also wonderful, just really nicely done. |

For the workhorseby 3amfromkyotoComment: Mamiya C330! Such a great camera...I love mine! It has been a long time since I have actual taken the thing out of my camera bag, this makes me want to bust it out and shoot some film. Beautiful light and I really like the warm color range/tones. Really nice. |

Mineby EvaanComment: I guess there was no more bird food to be had? : ) They're such the little piglets but I do love watching them! |

Escher's Appleby janbruderComment: Super duper creative! This is just fantastic! What I love about this image is that it DEMANDS a closer look, it absolutely requires it...and those who do not want to give the image some time will simply miss out. The B & W is very effective, makes the image more "challenging"...wouldn't be the same in color...the light is also nice... dim, ( in a good way ) simple and also very effective... very well done. 10 |

Red and Blackby theflyComment: This is just so juicy...no pun intended, or maybe it was. The light is so ethereal and the shine on the apples is divine. I would have loved to have seen this with more black above the sea of apples, a more squarish, "normal" canvas size with the apples in the bottom 1/3 or so...I just find this sort of long, squat cropping somewhat disconcerting and un-natural. I think maybe more black "breathing room" above would have made the apples "pop" even more than they do now...they are absolutely gorgeous. |

imperfect beautyby BeingCleverComment: A beautiful lush image...distracting title...what here is imperfect? The wall behind the still life? For me that wall just adds character and interest..."perfection" is boring at times...what is perfection anyway? Sometimes I think "perfection" is in the eye of the beholder just as "beauty" is. For me, this is perfectly beautiful. : ) |
