I of course don't know (I'm no photoshop expert!) But... it looks like the sharpening went perfectly except on the left of the rim. I would have undone this with the history brush.
If that's not what happened, well then I just don't like the white halo around that part... :0)

to improve on this image you might put more black in the black channel under selective color. try it & you will get a much deeper image with your light standing out much more.

the grey/ blue background is a little distracting because the value is too bright. I think if you had added some black to the cyan channel in selective color you might have gone darker & brought the eye tword the detail work (which also has a bit of the same color in it!) Also I might not have cropped so tightly on the right. however I really like the colors & DOF. 7
