Emerald City

In my haste, I put a stupid title on this photograph. It is Seattle, Washington, USA. I took it three hours before the submission deadline and just titled it its nickname, The Emerald City. I love how so many members appreciated the lighting. The sun was just about to go below the horizon in the west and this is looking east toward the city. It also helped that the usual dark, gray, dreary sky was unusually crystal clear blue. I was pleasantly surprised at the blue reflections in the windows, I didn't expect that effect. To all of those who saw what I wanted you to see, thank you! Someone once said that timing is everything in photography.

This is a gorgeous photo. I love the detail and the lighting. My vavorite part is the little sun porch, can you imagine sitting out there? It doesn't look very stable. I think it's cropped just a little close on the right but nevertheless, it's a very nice photo.

Nicely photographed - the lighting and eposure couldn't be better. I think sharper focus on the face and hands would be better. The Hat is out of focus too. Prfect background, and excellently composed.

Wonderful building. Too much shadow in the front that takes away from the detail. I would like to see the whole width of the building too. Nonetheless, amazing architecture.

Amazing sky! I would like to see the boats a lilttle bit sharper but it could just be the result of downsizing for submission. The bird is a nice addition to the photo.
