Good blocking out of the sun by the branch. Liked the birds. Gives it perspective. Didn't like the corner of the tree in the lower right corner. Still all in all a nice interpretation.

Nice composition. Leaves are well processed, but the branch shows little detail. Would have liked to see a better texture on the branch. Maybe a bit closer would have improved that detail.

I loved this shot. I have never seen such a naturally occuring composition. The uniqueness is what got me at first. More dodge around the center to lighten up the dark area, and just a little more focus. Still, I give it a 9

Reaching for the Sun

Flares can be used creatively to enhance and frame subjects. I like the flares around the tree branch, but as they get closer to the foreground they start to distract my eye. Since I am not sure how you could have angled the camera to get rid of some of the flares, I have no advice. It is definitely a shot worth doing over and over to perfect just the right amount of flare for the subject.
