Evening's Last Light

Liked the mood created by the single light on the background trees. Seemed a little too broken up, though. If you did not use a tripod, it would have made the image somewhat clearer. It may have been oversharpened to create grain.

Very dramatic sky. Thought the foreground and lower part of the picture was a little dark.

Very nice grain in the sky. I also liked the fence posts on the right side.

I did not vote or enter this challenge (Computer was down) but I think the other comments do tell the story to what is wrong with the image. It does not really draw the attention of viewers, because most won't look at an image for more than 2 seconds, hit a number then move on to the next one. It is light and dark, and a water reflection, but you also need to see what you were up against, which really guides many of the votes as well. If you voted on this one, see which ones you gave higher marks to, ask yourself why, then look at yours as just another image amongst the many. That is what I have been trying to do, but it can be frustrating to say the least.

Maybe a little too dark? Also thought the subject wasn't all that interesting, though you did place a lot of grain in the image. Good choice to make the image brown toned.

Would have liked more brightness on the image, which would have given it more grain. The most noticeable part of the image is the roof, which is very broken up with digital shadow. In advanced editing you can selectively choose to sharpen or blur areas. More editing would have helped this image.

I had a real problem with all the artifacts in the images. With this image, I think that selective sharpening of the background only would have added the grain that you needed, and I would have left the roses alone. Then they would pop out from the background, giving a more pleasing image.

Definitely is grainy. Overall, the image seemed to be lacking something, not sure what. Maybe less grain would have enhanced the contours of the statue better without overwhelming it.

Needed to focus better. The image would not have been wrecked either if you cropped more out of it. By zooming in in editing, say the center to the right of the image, it would have created more grain and been a better image.
