Very strange effect on this one. It looks almost unreal. The extreme smooth foreground adds to the unreal look of the image. I don't know what to vote this one on, but for now I will give it a 7

Too dark and there is a flare in the upper corner. Don't see that it enhanced the image, though you may have left it there for artistic reasons.

I am assuming this was a long exposure. I love the detail of the sheet on the right. Looks very ghostly. The title seems to me that the upper image should be more transparent. You may have stayed too long in the upper position. Anyway, that is about the only technicality I see wrong with the image. 8

Nice attempt at dramatic sunsets. I would recommend, if you don't have one, to get a neutral density filter. This would take away the overblown highlights in the sky. The colors, though, are marvelous. Nice color adjustments.

The image seems really dark, but that might be my monitor. I think the issue most voters might have with this one is the busyness. I am sure you were trying to capture textures in this one, but there may be too much of it in the photo. Maybe some cropping or simplification would make it easier to look at.

I think you were robbed. This is a great image. Love the way the background mimics the feathers of the owl. Really clear and precise. I guess most people failed to see the country connection, but in another challenge, such as birds, it would have probably been in the top 40 at least.

Sorry this did not do better. The greens are so saturated on this one. The various green tones really make this photo. I guess the clarity is what brought it down. Hope to see more of your entries. Anyway, mine fared really badly. 184th. Guess when I don't pass my images past somebody beforehand, I get bad scores.

Hardworking Hands

I was trying to depict an international style image, and I liked the idea of using a burka. The idea came from a photo book I have, and my hands image is very similar to the one I saw in the book. I felt it had more emotion and said much more. I am sorry that nobody appreciates the contrast used, the tones, or the strength of this image.
