Chocolate is really hard to photograph. I think that a little side lighting might have created a better highlight on the smoothness of the chocolate. This one appears either overhead lighting or front, which is not the best way to depict chocolate.

Seems too uninteresting, and the hand actually is the stronger subject, which is dry and cracked.

Not the most interesting composition. The syrup seems to not really work to create the silky smoothness you need for a successful image.

I think you created the image by using too much noise reduction. This made a falsely smooth image which doesn't really cut it for me.

Focus is too soft for me. Also, some light shining off of the petals to create a glow would have added a bit to the image. Getting an almost sparkle gold shimmer would have brought this more in line with silky smooth. Could possibly have done it with artificial light.
