red hatby LevTComment: She's interesting, but the water pipes at the right really make it -- they look like some weird hand with an off-the-wall manicure. |

Golden 157by MelethiaComment: Beautiful. I love the curve of the hillside.
California is full of beautiful hills, but one of my favorites is up by Los Alamos where Cat Canyon Road crosses 101 -- the right side of Can Canyon Road heading East. |

Waiting with Anticipationby PennyStreetComment: I do sort of wish the sailors were in better focus, but this is an wonderful urban composition, and the processing and colors give it a delightfully retro look.
Don't pay attention to the Philistine comments. |

Inlet no peopleby MelethiaComment: I'm with Sarah -- the shot is more interesting with a person in it.
Beautiful reflections and you really caught the "gray day" light. |

Emergingby MelethiaComment: I really like your DOF. I've never noticed the beautiful "wrapping" texture in the bud of a California poppy. My only suggestion would be to get the whole bud in the shot -- as I recall, they come to a neat point which would add some more visual interest (IMNSHO). Maybe put the bud on the diagonal? Lovely colors and forms in the background. |
