I like the river scene. I would have cloned out those little twigs in the lower left and gotten rid of the bit of pier also in the lower left.

Composition would be stronger if you cropped out the girl on the left. We can't see her face, and without her you have a strong father-son composition.

The letterbox border detracts from the image. It wastes pixels and gives the shot a very cramped feel.
