Eye Am Watching Youby SchuffComment: Great high key feel and amazing focus on the eyelashes. I like the selective color too. The only thing I think I might change would be the crop. Because it seems to be so centered, it lacks the interest I think it could generate by an offset composition. Other than that - great job! Bumping up. |

iguanas sunbathingby RiponladyComment: You really got some great detail in this shot. I'm surprised that the B/W works so well, but it does. The only spot where I think it doesn't is the nose of the iguana facing forward - you've lost a bit in the highlights there. Otherwise, good composition and a great shot. :-) |

Horus' Throneby glodaComment: Your use of lighting here is excellent. Great composition/crop and love the lines and purple tones. Very well thought out and executed image. Kudos... |

The line is deadby ajschelComment: I think this is a very good shot. Love again the minimalist feel it has and the composition is great. The focus is also good, but it's not quite tack sharp (which I think would help here). The tones of the image support the obsolete theme and overall I think/thought it was a strong entry. I scored it a 7. |

Drugs & Liquorby ajschelComment: Good composition and I think it fit the challenge well. IMHO though the score it received was probably due more to the quality of the image than the subject matter (I know that there are some voters who aren't always objective when it comes to some types of shots). It's too dark, too grainy, and it seems a little too tilted to me to be on purpose and not quite tilted enough to be artistic (if you know what I mean). Again, I think it was a good idea, it just suffered for technical reasons. |

IMG_6689.jpgby ajschelComment: Great shot. I like the minimalist feel this has and the crop you selected really capitalizes on the image's best features. Good color and focus, although I wonder what it would look like if you were to play with the colors/hues a bit to see if you could bring out even more color variations in slightly deeper tones. Beautiful shot. |

IMG_6589.jpgby ajschelComment: Great focus and DOF. I do like the background, but agree it should be offset more to one side. Great textures and color. |

IMG_6860.jpgby ajschelComment: I tend to agree with the previous comment, but think that this one could be improved by some selective burning/dodging and adjusting the color sat/contrast a bit. It's a beautiful setting and an extremely picturesque landscape. You've already scoped out a great shooting spot too. Would love to see this with some deeper richer tones and slightly later in the day. Great eye for spotting this. |
