Balance by arnitComment: Pretty cool bird. The composition, pov, focus, crop are dead on in this image. All your technicals are great. I would argue that the saturation is a little high but not too much - it may have been the light. For me though, the image is a little static. Can't put my finger on why. Maybe because the background is so blurred I get no sense of place. Excellent capture - 8 from me. Good luck in the challenge! |

Shoebill...What Shoebill? I haven't bought a pair in months!by amberComment: how would you like to go through life like that?! Sorry - I saw this image and had to comment. Its like Jimmy Durante's nose on steroids! My god what an ugly bird. One of those so ugly its cute in a weird sort of way. I had to look it up. Poor bird! Anyway. You got my attention. Unique in all of challenge. Focus, crop, colors all excellent. Honestly, the only thing I really find lacking is POV which hurts your composition. I am taking into consideration that this is NOT a posed studio shot (maybe zoo but they're still wild animals) and you can't control the situation. Lighting is great. The emotional impact outweighs the pov for me in this case. 9 - good luck in the challenge! |

Tree on the Hillby CalliopeKelComment: wow The colors are intense here. I really like it. Think that makes this stand out among field images. Incredible sky - this almost looks like a painting because its hard to believe its real. That's a good thing, btw. excellent work! |

glow weedsby scampComment: wow. These are weird. they look metallic. Excellent capture. love the colors. Only thing I don't like is the blown area at the top. But, since I don't know what it would look like without it, Ic an't say it would be an improvement. Excellent capture of detail! |

Warmth of the Sunby jenesisComment: love the color tones you used - it really does add warmth. Not sure about the crop but I thought about it and not sure how it could be improved either. maybe taking out some of the left. really no clue. Detail is very good. I enjoy looking at this - well done! |

storm2by Prime_TimeComment: Amazing. I haven't seen a cloud like that since I left Oklahoma. Love the coloring of the sky - whether you adjusted it or not - great job with that. Can't help you with a critique - its not something you can capture again! Love the way the grass is so very green. Image looks balanced to me. |

Moustache? or Beard?? or Both of Em???by doctabrezComment: He doesn't have either? Ignoring the title, I would say he decided to shave. I love the angle, crop and point of view but the pink cast bothers me and detracts from an interesting capture otherwise. Good luck in the challenge! |

leaving homeby ursulaComment: There's a wistfulness about this image that I love. Technically pretty good. The focus is not exact - maybe one stop smaller would fix that. Decision? no clue. Honestly don't believe a plant can make a decision. However, if I ignore the title (or my take on it) the decision was to blow the seeds away. Which works for me! Love the lighting - greatly enhances the image. 8 for now, may bump later... Good luck in the challenge! |
