Who's There?by neophyteComment: Hmmm...Camel butt. Just what I always wanted a view of. :) Actually I think this is quite nice. The tones are excellent, crop and composition are great. Focus is dead on as is POV and DOF. 8 - good luck in the challenge! |

The lionby ZemmComment: Reminds me of the pictures of Mary looking at the sky. you know, the pious Jesus Mary? Anyway, I think this is well done. Tones could have been a little more contrast, but I have a feeling that blew out your whites. MAybe a selection of everything but the whites with a level adjustment would help. The face/position/expression of this image is so powerful though - 9. Good luck in the challenge! BTW - like the touch of green in the back. |

Spots Behind Barsby cloudsmeComment: In spite of the cage lines this is an excellent capture. POV good, DOF good, color/tone well done. 8 good luck in the challenge! BTW - its not easy to get rid of that coloration where the bars are, but if you look at the original at pixel size, select the area/areas where it occurs (tedious I know!) and do a slight level correction, it will bring those spots in line with the rest of the image. Time consuming, I know... :) |

Droolby doctornickComment: Honestly, I hate the title. It points out something I may not have noticed or cared about otherwise. By titling the image as such, I see that as the subject of the image. So, I will ignore the title. I think the image is well captured - POV, Focus, DOF, lighting all excellent. White spot on the lip could be removed post processing pushing the score even higher. Cropped, composed well. 8 - good luck in the challenge! |

The Zoo, there's no place like it!by Photogirl_in_VancouverComment: Love the look on his face. And of course that he's a redhead!. I think the image is a little small and the crop a little tight. However, I think the focus is great, the colors are great, the DOV and POV great. Composition is a little static due to the tight crop. 7 - good luck in the challenge! |

The Lion Sleeps Tonightby CutterComment: Beautiful tones and lighting. There is something just not 'quite' right in this and I'm not sure if its the frame or the dark space. The balance is not quite there for a 10. I really can't put my finger on it. Maybe if you had cropped away some of the left side - I don't know since I can't see it side by side. Anyway, the post work is excellent but I think you had an excellent image to start with. 9 - good luck in the challenge! |

Melancholyby cajayComment: OMG what a face! Except for the green blade of grass in front, I love the tones in this image. Very subdued to match the subject. Excellent balance in that respect. While the blade of grass is annoying, I think it helps hold the subject where he is - does that make sense? Love the lighting. 9 - good luck in the challenge! |

Almost Finger Lick'n Goodby TDCollinsComment: My favorite! You are kidding about the validation right?! The giraffe is a touch soft but the entire dynamic for the image won't allow me to dwell on it anyway. Excellently cropped. Tonally excellent also. 10 - well deserved! |

On Her Ownby ergoComment: excellent tones used. love the coloring in the sky. Like the details in her coat - catches your eye and gives her depth so she isn't just a black blob. 8 - good luck in the challenge! |
