really like this. color tones very good, composition excellent. If I did anything at all, I would clone out the taller grass on the top left. It stops the 'roll' down the hill. Beautiful image anyway...

perfect on my monitor too. Excellent timing, excellent crop, excellent DOF. Many don't understand how difficult it is to capture a bird in flight with this much detail. Well done!

awkward yet compelling. I think both are due to composition which for me is this images strong point. The lighting is perfect. The slight blur of the head gives the image tension which works so well. I know, in just a moment, he will look at me and I will look him in the eye. He will hrumph and trot away. Thank you for the glimpse of what is possible.

I knew this would place well. Extremely well taken and edited. You've somehow managed both softness and sharpness together with just enough texture to make the image sing. Comp and POV are excellent as is toning. Well done and congrats!

tones excellent. I honestly don't think the composition here, what I can see what I can't see, matters much. You will probably get the "too dark" comments as people want to see it all (they need a new monitor) but I think subtlety is this images strong point. This is even shown in the fact that there are no blacks or whites in this image. Put together with the title, a strong statement indeed. Sorrow is one of those subtle emotions that sneaks up on you, much like this image. Bump up to 10. Good luck in the challenge. I have a feeling this will be way under-rated...
