Barn Windowby swallaceComment: There is something restful about this image. Hmmm, maybe comforting is a better word. Not sure if its the expression or the tones used. I like both though. 8 |

The Dark Sideby scalvertComment: Honestly, this image doesn't do you justice. It may be the true you, though. I don't think I've ever seen that eye... ;) |

Last Matchby Rando D300Comment: In this challenge, this is my top pick. You have an actual failure (rather than relying on your title). As for the image itself: very strong, excellent B&W conversion. Toning and lighting well done. 10 |

My ~Wicked~ Sideby espy2Comment: I have an LCD monitor, calibrated so I can see every box at the bottom of this page. I think your monitor must be mis-calibrated, maybe in contrast. I can see the marks of dodge and burn here - lightening of the face and some trees, darkening of some shadows in the trees and your cape. And the contrast is a little flat. Speaking from experience (this has happened to me too many times to mention), I would suggest editing in a bright room (when I edit at night with the lights out, I have the same issues). The base image itself is good - composition good, sharpness, detail, POV good, you just need to be aware of ambiant light and its effects on what you see in your monitor. Its a shame that a good image and good photographer can be held back by technical issues... I'm giving you a 6 for the base image (overlooking the post processing) since I'm pretty sure it was not bad editing. |

How my children see me...by lauraodomComment: You have such a beautiful face to be hiding behind the camera. In photoshop you could have reversed this so the writing is not backwards (I find it distracting). Tonal conversion good. Image lacks drama but focused well. 7 |

Organicby jenesisComment: Not sure what I love about this picture. The tones, the stare, the honestness/nakedness... excellent image. Sorry - have to bump to 10. Its the eyes. Good luck! |
