Neat shot and I like the title although it took me a while... I really like the colors and the orientation. Nice simple border too. Really good job.

Neat shot, very haunting. It seems like the focus on the square is a bit off especially on the left. Good job.

I like the background a bunch. I wish that the bottom of the beaded item didn't look so dirty as it is a distraction. Good job.

Very interesting take on the challenge, I hope everyone gets it. I like the softness of focus but not sure if the colors are right. I give you credit for creativity and guts for submittal. Good luck in the challenge.

I really like this shot, it may be my favorite this week. The colors and textures and angles are fantastic! The glare on the front top edge of the box is just a bit of a distraction. I also think it could have been a bit sharper with more file size. Good luck this week.

Greetings from the Critique Club };-)

Initial thoughts
Fun and happy composition, interesting take on the challenge, colors could be a bit brighter

Composition/ Content

Composition is very good, I think you put the Epcot Center right where it belonged. I think you placed the timer right where it needed to be as well. The confetti is fantastic. I like the way the road winds off into the distance.

Background
One of the things that might have been improved here is the brightness of the sky. The blue is really washed out.

Camera Work - Technical
Focus seems good for evidentally taking a rather quick hand-held shot. Seems as if the contrast could have been pressed just a little. The sign seems a bit washed out as well.

Digital Processing - Technical
I think the photo could have benefited from a little increased saturation. It would have given you sky more color and the confetti and bright signs as well. A dark border may have brought the colors out a little as well.

Fits The Challenge
Here's the rub...I'm sure some voters marked you down for this. I think it fits the challenge but I'm not sure just how well. I think most were focusing on road signs put up by a Dept of Transportation.

My Opinion On The Photo
I originally scored this shot a five and was very near a six. I think that it meets the challenge but was more focused on the marathon and less on the sign. I know I thought about this shot a lot before voting. Good job, and keep up the good work.

I would be happy to talk further about this shot if you would like to contact me.

Initial thoughts
Beautiful color and contrast, meets the challenge, could be a bit sharper
Composition/ Content

Very nice composition, I really like your lighting. As I mentioned during the challenge, I would like to see what this looks like with the petal slightly turned either right or left. I don't know if you tried that during shooting. The cream on the petal is near perfect.

Background
I don't know how you got your background and cream such a pristine white color, excellent job.

Camera Work - Technical
Focus seems good and contrast is excellent for the difference in dark and white you have here. The focus does seem as if it could be just a bit sharper but I think that is more processing. Your white balance once again is awesome.

Digital Processing - Technical
A couple of things here that I think could have taken your shot "over the top".(Not that a top ten is anything to sneeze at!!!) First, like another commenter, I think the border is a bit much. I think a 6 pixel black border would have made the whites whiter and the reds brighter. (I sound like a laundry detergent commercial!) The other thing is even more important. The shot is only 66 kb of the 150 kb allowed in file size. I truly believe that the increase in file size would have really sharpened this up. Both of these changes may have been enough to move you up into ribbon contention.

Fits The Challenge
Definitely fits the challenge well.

My Opinion On The Photo
I think that it is a really nice shot and it meets the challenge well but could have been improved a little to finish even higher than it did. Good job, and keep up the good work.

I hope that no plants were harmed in the making of this photograph! LOL Good take on the challenge. A little less glare on the top left would have been nice.
