This is such an awesome shot. I actually had to take it to my PSP and flip it to see the reflection right. The blue is perfect, everything looks like a painting. I'm not positive a Cow fits the challenge but the shot overcomes it anyway. Fantastic job! DPz

Good shot. I feel this may have worked better with an overcast sky or in B & W. DPz

Certainly blends in . Good composition but you may have wanted to crop or de-saturate the green at the top. DPz

Beautiful shot, you did a great job of lighting the clouds. LOL I'm not sure if the moon adds something here or not. Good border for the shot as well. DPz

Hey Mike,Greetings from the Critique Club };-)

Initial thoughts
Interesting composition, meets the challenge, very humorous!

Composition/ Content
Technically I like the shot. I think that having it on the right side of the frame makes it seem more "shoved in a corner". Everything there including the dust, dirt and metal piece has a discarded forgotten about look. Black and white was perfect for this shot. I like the lighting as well.

Background
You'd better put "wall cleaning" on your Honey-Do list! The background is fine.

Camera Work - Technical
Focus seems just a bit soft here. That may have been you intention but I feel it needed to go either a little sharper or a little softer.

Digital Processing - Technical
Good work on the B & W and toning. I wonder if a border is warrented here?

Fits The Challenge
Fits the challenge well.

My Opinion On The Photo I originally scored this shot a five as did most of the voters. I remember being between a five and a six. I think that it meets the challenge but was kind of depressing although humorous. This is probably what kept the score low. Good job, and keep up the good work.

I would be happy to talk further about this shot if you would like to contact me.

Hi Richard, Greetings from the Critique Club };-)

Initial thoughts
Very interesting composition, I feel as if I should have known it was yours as you are developing a style here which is a bit unusual on this site in my mind. I must also say that I admire that style and your work. That said, I think this shot could have had a couple of minor improvements to have been one of your best.

Composition/ Content
The biggest problem I have with the shot is the way it feels like it is leaning to the right. It is centered at the bottom and the top of the stairs is right-center. I think it would have worked better dead-on center. I like the almost dizzying feel of the climb up the ladder.

Background
The texture on the tower or building is excellent. I also like the way the top of the shot seems to go on almost forever.

Camera Work - Technical
The DOF is really excellent as it seems that this ladder is really tall.

Digital Processing - Technical
Other than the lean to the right, I feel that the other thing that could have really made this shot was the color. The blacks seem to have a blue cast and the sky could have been even more blue. I took this shot and adjusted the white balance a bit warmer and then saturated the blue and I feel it made for a better shot. You may want to play around with that a bit.

Fits The Challenge
Definitely fits the challenge well.

My Opinion On The Photo I like the shot alot and after Critiquing it I like it even more. I think that it meets the challenge well but could have been improved a little to finish even higher than it did. Great job, and keep up the good work. I look forward to more of your shots in the future.

Vespa speed....
by Binni

Comment:
Hi Binni, Greetings from the Critique Club };-)

Initial thoughts
Nice color but a bit overexposed

Composition/ Content
A lot of negative space that doesn't seem to help the shot much. Because the Vespa itself is a bit blown out, the over abundence of white space doesn't seem to help it.

Background
Like it is noted above, the background seems a little too overexposed.

Camera Work - Technical
It is a little hard to tell exactly what we are looking at here. The Vespa doesn't have enough definition to really tell much.

Digital Processing - Technical
I am assuming that most of this shot was done on the computer and not in camera. The exposure has been noted. In addition, I noticed that you are only at 63kb instead of the 150kb allowed by the rules. Although it may not have hurt you much here it is a good practice to use as many pixels as possible.

Fits The Challenge
Seems to fit the challenge as there is a feeling of motion.

My Opinion On The Photo I originally scored this shot a four as did most of the voters. I think that it meets the challenge but is a bit too "artistic" for this site. I noticed that this is your first submission. Welcome to DPC! Be sure and browse the photos, tutorials and "How'd They Do That" areas. I have learned so much here in a relatively short time. Good luck, and keep plugging.
