Your idea is good but a few ideas for improvements: press the background, wrinkles are not good and people always notice. White is really strong so you have to have good light control. When shooting black shinny things, try a little cover on your flash or light. That will help with the bouncing shine. Paper, plastic lids, cloth all can make good temp flash covers. :) Good luck.
