Simple, yet beautiful. This is the best minimalistic image in the challenge. Superbly composed. Love it!

This is a great image. The balance of interest and colour is perfect. It's sharp. Gets my vote for best landscape in this challenge. Well done.

This is brilliant. Sharp as a it gets. The duo tones and contrast is fantastic, as is the use of the border. Best insect macro of challenge, without a doubt. Well done.

Pets animal photo of the challenge. I'm amazed that you managed to get them all sitting and looking at the camera so well... Brilliant. And the photo itself is outstanding... composure and contrast are perfect

I'm particularly fond of the boxer.

This is my absolute favourite from this challenge. Nothing here I don't like. I particularly love the composition, the impact the select desat has, great use of border. The kid's pigeon-toed stance/stride is the cherry on top. Excellent image. One of the very few times I've given an image a 10. Well done!

Not voting, just commenting... and the fact that you already know what I think of this image, there's not really too much point to this comment other than to get me one vote closer to the 100 comments mark (God know's I'm not going to go for the 100% comment target, that's just crazy... impossible for that matter if they're all as long and rambling as this comment).

In all seriousness though. An excellent image, and should have been your free study shot last month, but lucky for you, this Gem challenge comes along and you get to use an image you didn't have the cohones to use in the Feb Free Study for fear of getting another DQ. I'm rambling again, aren't I... I'm not even going to get close to 100 comments at this rate... but you know what, I'm enjoying the free style writing exercise this comment has become... I might even try a few K10DGuy type comments while attempting the 100 comment goal... just to make it interesting, though, my writing abilities are nowhere near those of K10DGuy.

Back to your photo. In the words of Conner and rodfulk before they got blasted for trying to get a 100% comments ribbon with their minimalist, cut-and-paste comments... "Great shot"

Seriously though... I love the colour variation and the randomness of the light in this shot. I'm not sure about the light in the base of the glass... that might cost you some points with the voters, as too might the rim of the glass... but too hell with those voters that can't recognise a brilliant image when they see it. Excellent image.

You were never going to get anywhere near the brown with an image this good. I love the minimalism of it, yet it has detail and sharpness which can keep the viewer looking for much longer than one would expect of an image like this. Sorry, but my vote will do nothing to help you get brown this time.

As Eddie Murphy's uncle Gus once said "Now THAT's a FIRE!". Great image. Great capture. The flames provide the drama, and the firefighters add the personal interest and become the focus of the shot. Excellent.
