The Originalby CreativeFlyPhotoComment: I remember those things! I like the grainyness of the photo and definitely helps to be in B&W (did you increase the ISO rating in camera for this shot?). Having the warped section of the LP in focus gets points in my book, definitely old. Good job. |

Happy Daysby lecalanComment: When I look at this, the vehicle on the right just doesn't seem to belong in the picture. It fits because they are all cars but it interrupts the strong line created by the other cars entering from the left of the frame an that's why it seems out of place. If the car on the right occupied most of the frame and the others were just breifly shown it may work better for me. Possibly shooting vertically instead of horizontally and cutting out the single car but keeping the line of cars and the tree on the left. |

1896by arnitComment: Really nice. Using the clear blue sky to fill most of the frame along with the strong sidelit greens gives it a quiet, peaceful feel. The dark shadows created by the sidelighting on the house and especially the entryway help make the subject stand out. If only the distant cloucover had been less to create a more stark contrast where the grass meets the blue sky instead of white, but that's a minor quibble for me. Great job. |

This Old Houseby bdshortComment: I like the aged look of the house but for me there is no clear focal point. My eyes shift between the broken window and the boarded up door. To further complicate things the horizontal elements of the electricity meter (?) and the wooden supports lie right in the middle of the frame adding more separation to the two possible subjects. Focusing on one element (door or window) and maybe composing the supports off to one side would have worked better for me. This would probably look good in B&W too. |

Verdigrisby kathleenmComment: Good idea filling the frame with the main subject since its color is so simillar to its surroundings and would get lost if it were any less. |

Window of the pastby snoopyComment: The window and barn do a good job of pulling me into the photo but the supporting wall in the foregound is somewhat distracting and pulls my attention off to the borders of the frame. The muted colors help emphasize the age of the wooden objects. Might be interesting to see what it would look like with more of the 'through the window' area filling the frame and less of the supporting wall. |

(c) 1897by malapropamComment: This is a really cool composition. The glow of the candles would be nice but there is too much ambient light for it to make the kind of effect that candles can have on their subject. Especially this, with the book being Dracula, being lit mostly or completely with candlelight could have given it a more "spooky" atmoshpere. |

tanner's tombby ibewillComment: Being shot in b&w really helps to bring out the textures and also hepls bring the lighter exterior of the tomb into the forefront wihle the darkness of the surrounding trees and the archway draw my eyes into the photograph and into the tomb. Nice job. |

Door to the Pastby lmhrComment: I stared at this photo for about 5 minutes trying to decide if the door being off center because of including the lamp mattered to me or not and I still don't know. I really like the colors in this photo but I think it may have looked a little better if it was more centered since the symmetrical door fills the whole frame and is the main subject. |
