Nice shot with good DOF and interesting patterns formed by the trees behind the lion. If you have PhotoShop (or the equivalent), try working with the levels or curves a little to bring out more contrast and color in the cat's fur. Add a little sharpening and I think you'll like the result.

Congratulations on a new best, a GREAT score, and a top 10!! I didn't vote on this challenge but I did flip through the thumbnails and opened those that really said "success" to me without reading the title - this was one of those. Everything here works - colors are wonderful and the greenish mist at the feet really sets off the shadow nicely. Composition and framing is perfect. A very lovely photograph, very well done!

Heh! This is pretty good! Only immediate improvement in "context" is to show the screen with the DPC page up - relies on title too much otherwise. Composition is not bad but the blinds in the background seem to draw my eye away from the subject. The baghead part is too darn funny - voters need to work on their sense of humor just a bit.

Edit to add - after reading Kelli's comments, yes, it would be nice to see an eye a bit clearer.
