LightBulb Blooming in the Garden

This doesn't really work for me. The harsh lighting on the right pulls the eye away from the "object" of your picture, which I take to be the lightbulb. The bulb itself is rather small compared to the rest of the picture and looks like it was just "stuck there", rather than "growing". The idea might work better if you were to put it in among the hostas and taken the picture so that the bulb was a more significant part of the frame. It is a good idea, though!

The nice soft background tones blend well with the red of the holder and the turquoise of the glass. It could probably stand a touch of NeatImage, but I don't mind the color noise myself - I kinda like it in this shot.

Does demonstrate a scientific property well, but a bit on the plain side as a photo other than one to meet the challenge. Maybe if shot so the magnifying glass overlapped it's shadow more. I do like the clouds in the reflection - more of that would add interest as well.
