Carefree Timesby BradComment: This picture has a timeless quality about it, Brad. Very nice capture. And at full crop, says a lot about the quality of the XT - quite nice! You're having a great time with these candids, aren't you? It shows! |

so misunderstoodby ursulaComment: Abstract as I perceive abstract? Very much so.
Do I like it? Yes. Haven't a clue what it is, and that doesn't bother me at all.
Technicals? Very nice! Excellent composition, nice contrasts of clear, sharp focus on the stem and softness on the body of whatever it is. Bokeh adds nicely, and I love the touch of blue at the bottom. |

Strawberry Nipplesby JudiComment: Abstract as I perceive abstract? Yes. This works well as an abstract and is still mostly recognizable - would have taken me a minute to figure it was a strawberry.
Do I like it? Yes.
Technicals? Composition is very good; good use of color and the diagonal corner. Also very good use of DOF. |

Crystallineby typologicComment: Abstract as I perceive abstract? Yes
Do I like it? Yeah, this works well. I like the granular texture and the colors. Gummy worms?
Technicals? Good. Could be a bit crisper across the bolder colors. |

Hot Potatoby leafComment: Abstract as I perceive abstract? Not really - this is really more literal to me.
Do I like it? I do like the steam and the lighting.
Technicals? The glow the lighting creates on the potato is good. The fork out of focus bothers me a bit since this is more of a literal shot.
A closer view of just one side of the potato (preferably the glowy part) and the steam would have been more of an abstract. |

The Peachy Nebulaby muckpondComment: Abstract as I perceive abstract? Yes
Do I like it? Yeah, it's kinda cool.
Technicals? What makes this interesting is the lighting - very intriguing because of that. |

.abStr.appLe.by annasenseComment: Abstract as I perceive abstract? Yes
Do I like it? Yeah, kinda!
Technicals? I think I'd like to see it with a bit more light on the top apple, or perhaps the top apple just a little less soft, but still not focused. |

Sun or sliced ?by FocusPointComment: Abstract as I perceive abstract? Yes
Do I like it? This one does not appeal to me personally, but abstracts appeal to different people very differently.
Technicals? The very dark spot is what draws my attention first - then the gold section. The swirling pattern kind of keeps you in the picture. |

Alien Sucroseby otisXmikeComment: Abstract as I perceive abstract? Yes
Do I like it? Well, not really. Even with abstracts, there should be a "focus" or an impression you're conveying to the viewer - I'm not seeing anything cohesive here, but abstracts are often viewed very differently by different people.
Technicals? Colors are interesting, but the bright white parts detract for me. I think, for me anyway, it might have worked better with less of the blown white blobs and more of the color sections. |
