Excellent macro - did you get him to sit on a yellow posterboard for you or add that in post processing? Whichever, it works very well! He has the cutest look on his face, too.

Undoubtedly voted low for too much red, but this is an awesome composition. I very much like it - this is the type of thing I love to shoot myself. I wouldn't change a thing about the composition - the only nit I have is the color of the sky seems just a tad purplish to me. Very nice shot!

Grass and reeds

I like the juxtaposition of the visible grass and the reflected reeds - particularly where they almost touch along the same paths. My nit with this is that to me the green is too green. I realize it probably IS that green, but when you live where it doesn't rain, green this green seems artifical.

Well I didn't beat you by much... but since I don't beat you very often these days, allow me a moment to gloat... :-) OK, moment over. First I must admit that I am not a huge fan of infared - I know a lot of people really like it, but to me it reminds me of flocked Christmas trees and I've never liked flocked Christmas trees. Christmas trees should be green and smell of pine. Period.

The setting and the composition (once I get past the flocked trees) is pretty peaceful (though it probably wasn't with the kids whining and all). Would that you could get rid of the building, though. The one thing I will say for infared is it makes the river a lovely color.

All in all, I'd take a 5.8 that you "phfftttt" at any day.

Heh! Just read Posthumous' broku - it does look like popcorn eating the bridge...

I really like this. When I first saw it in the challenge, it was one of those that made me stop and really look, because it had an interesting "feel" to it. I do like the use of the fisheye for this - not sure it would have worked nearly as well otherwise. To me, it is zen, and to some degree it also conveys aloneness, which is different than loneliness in that aloneness can be very peaceful and comfortable.
