Find the Deranged Jack O'Lanternby KelliComment: Last I checked, it probably wasn't cool enough to have an outdoor fire this time of year in New Jersey... the things we do for challenges. Unless of course it's a barbeque pit and there was food to be had!
Good job of capturing the flames. Composition-wise, the one log that goes diagonal across the upper part of the frame tends to draw the eye most, and the background leads one to believe this was taken mid-day (which I suspect it was). I'm betting it might have been more dramatic if shot at night. All told, though, pretty good job of capturing flame which to me is a lot harder than it looks! |

Swinging from the Heightsby KelliComment: What an odd looking little critter! I like the way you chose to shoot this to sort of frame him with the branches and leaves. Good color throughout. As for the challenge, it may have done better had you shot from a lower angle - doesn't look as much "up" as some might have been expecting, I'm guessing. And VERY good work without a flash in low light! He does look like he could use a good shampoo, though... :-) |

In Good Companyby ericwooComment: Held over 5! I think I'd have preferred it without the object on the right - for one thing, I don't know what it is. I do like the flag and the rope and like the fact it isn't a dead-on angle; technicals are decent. |

Floating in a Sea of Peaby timfythetooComment: Wow - that there is a LOT of peas. Very creative approach to the challenge and have to admit I wouldn't have gone to all that work for a shot of peas. :-) Seems to have been well-received. Nice work with the 50mm, by the way - good choice there. And I have to say I didn't know there was an aperture of 4.3 - is there? Technicals are good - nice use of ambient light (you do that so well). Maybe a bit too green on the peas, but not by much, |

Overkillby timfythetooComment: Nice job, Tim. Like you said, it's simple, but it works well. Score is good but not great, probably due to the blown bit of flame here and there, but definitely above average. I didn't vote on the challenge so I'm not sure how many marshmallow shots there were, but I suspect this was probably the best of them. |

The Devil Speaksby ericwooComment: Sorry I missed the drunken comments, maybe? May not have been very inspired but it turned out pretty darn well just the same. Nice clean shot, maybe just a tad oversharpened but it works well. Nothing overexposed which is tough to do with fire. |
