Papaya Seeds or Mantis Eggs?by timfythetooComment: This poor guy is probably getting very tired of seeing the inside of your refrigerator. I'm surprised he hasn't moved to the neighbor's yard yet! But you do a very good job of shooting him (or her, as the case may be.) Nice setup, nice shot, nice score, nice finish. |

...by timfythetooComment: Extremely good clone work on this! I've been going back and forth between the original and the finished one and I'm quite in awe of what you were able to do. My only suggestion - take it back into PS and tone down the yellows a lot and the reds a bit in hue/sat and see if you like it better. Great score and great finish, even if Aimee did beat you. :-) |

Station to Stationby Rae-AnnComment: Woman, this rocks! I didn't vote in this challenge and to tell you the truth, forgot to look through the results. AWESOME score and great finish! But that's neither here nor there. I absolutely love the picture. I love the desat and the yellow. And I really love that it's a "shot from the hip" kinda thing. My kinda picture, and you did it really, really, really well! Really well! |

Northern Nightby LouisComment: Hey, you entered a challenge! :-) I'm trying to think of the artist/print this reminds me of, but I'll never come up with it. But whatever it is, it really reminds me of that. I very much like this and cannot think of a single thing I'd want changed. Tones, composition, exposure are all dead on. Very nicely done, and underrated. |

White Dahliaby chaliceComment: Gorgeous! I LOVE the way it moves from the blown corner in the upper left down to the pure softness and the eye travels. Nicely composed, well exposed. Very nice shot all around! (I won't judge as to "abstract" or "macro" since I have a grasp on neither.) |

Halving the Seedby chaliceComment: I like how the seed is hinted at - peeking out. Nice job of a solid, supporting background, as well, and the DOF is good to get both halves of the apple focused. I think I'd have preferred to see the face of the apple at just a bit more of an angle, though, rather than dead on towards the camera - it would add a bit more texture that way. |

Fishingby chaliceComment: A perfect kind of shot for this challenge - meets the description but has interest - something more than just a tree. May be a tad on the darkish side. A quick check in Photoshop shows you could add a little using levels and/or curves to bring out the colors/detail more. Excellent composition overall. |

Shinyby KelliComment: Nice lightplay and I like the way there's a hint of color despite it being a spiderweb at night. I haven't read comments but I suspect you got dinged for oversharpening (?) to where the light looks like "bits" - literally little squares and jags. Or it could be that it wasn't "abstract" enough - I can never tell what does and doesn't count as "abstract", though. |
