Matchbooksby ElaineComment: Red, black and white is my favorite color combination - you've used this to great advantage along with excellent lines, angles, and patterns. Congrats on a great score and even better, a great picture! |

Close yarn match?by snafflesComment: Obviously there aren't enough crafty types at DPC - I know exactly what you were after with this. Good clarity, good composition. Might be just a tad lacking in contrast but not sure it could be increased on this particular shot without changing the lighting a bit. What I think hurt you scorewise more than anything was the audience's lack of familiarity with the subject matter. |

Pan Fly Gooseby posthumousComment: Quiet, muted, and understated; that orange glow at the waterline makes it sing. 'Twere me, I might indeed crop off the sky - put the geese closer to the top and keep just the dark tones. |

Could You Spare a Light?by timfythetooComment: Well, you know me...the fact the match is blown actually works here - doesn't bother me at all. To have it NOT blown would make your hand too dark. The toning is excellent. Overall execution is excellent and I need you to give me lessons in the framing part. Definitely works with the half face better, in my opinion. A shot that I think stands exceptionally well on it's own, too. |

Squirrel on a Wireby aznymComment: In a way it's kinda sad that voters here tend to "look for the obvious" - I'm betting that a good number of them actually liked this when they first saw it, then said to themselves "Oh, but nothing's in focus and there's a lens flare there." Very sad indeed, as they miss out on the shots that actually have life to them. |

Bulletby whiteroomComment: I'd post a neat little gif to give you a ribbon, since this was one of my top pictures in this challenge, but I haven't made up such a gif yet. I think since I miss the boat so often on picking the winners, though, that I really ought to come up with a ribbon of some kind. Great shot, Lesley - quite pleased to see it is yours.
But you really should take xion's advice... |
