Ducks in the Mists

Very nearly a 6 and a nice shot, too! Very peaceful - mist works well and the house adds a lovely element to show that wildlife does indeed coexist quite nicely with man. Seems the majority of the commenters wanted to see the foreground duck a bit sharper. It does work this way, though it requires the viewer to linger a bit longer to appreciate. The "scene" is the house with the ducks in the water. The "sentinel" is the single duck in the foreground, keeping an eye on things but not wishing to be the focal point.

Preserve or not, you definitely captured the "wild" essence of this beast in my opinion. And what a gorgeous animal it is, too. Also kinda neat the way that branch curves to reflect the curve of the wolf's back and hindquarters.

Thanks for the compliment!! I'm quite flattered and I'm very delighted with the result you got. I know I hate it when people say this but it really is woefully underrated. I love the golden tones of the wings and the cacophony of flight you can almost hear from this photograph. Lovely photograph!

You and I must be on the same wavelength or something - seems I'm always taken with your shots in challenges. Composition is very good with the strong diagonal and the green bokeh in the background is perfect for this shot. Not quite a new PB but a new top row entry and a pleasing one to have there, too.
