After the Funeral...by seancgn68Comment: Seems like the house/ stairways are more important than the subject who is cropped off and almost incidental. |

Restingby silverleafComment: Too blue, too tilted, too over saturated in colour but an interesting set of textures. |

Road into Silenceby russiComment: Certainly a strong leading line - I'd find the image more interesting if I could see more clearly where it lead to, although I appreciate that the fact it leads into a mist-shrouded distance is how it meets the challenge. |

Momentby MaverickComment: Gravestones striking but seem overexposed - yet tree trunks are so dark - perhaps taken at a time of day when the lighting was too harsh. Compositionally not very strong - the position of the trees within the frame doesn't add to the image - why was it taken from this exact viewpoint? would turning a few degrees in one direction provide stronger shapes/ balance? What about getting lower down nearer the ground? |

Come on, feel the noiseby broken tripodComment: Nice leading lines. However image feels tilted to the right. Sky is just too large an expanse of bland white for me. Good choice to go black and white. |

Quiet Spot in a Crowded Placeby progersctComment: A peaceful bench on which to sit and contemplate - the composition works very well - the loose, natural shape of the bush really balances the highly detailed, solid arches. Don't like border though. |

Silence at dawnby kghoshalComment: There's another entry with a more spectacular sunset, with added interest from the silhouette of land and the inclusion of the sun. But that one is let down for me by the inclusion of a powered motor boat - not my idea of silence. Your image implies a more peaceful, silent journey, but for me, is let down by weak composition, tilted horizon and lack of additional interest. I'm also not sure that the centred position of the boat is the strongest choice. |
