Bread from Grain, not a Machineby hyperfocalComment: Nice, clean shot with good composition and nice detail. I particularly like the lack of background detail and also the scattering of grains by the loaf. Overall it seems a touch dark to me but only a touch. One of the stronger entries, in my opinion. |

Clear Soupby e301Comment: Nice top-down view - really shows off the colour and pepper corn in the soup broth. Lighting seems a bit harsh - I'm not sure I like the reflection at the top area of the liquid and the shadows are quite harsh too for my taste. |

Mediterranean food anyone ? by Tom_RobbrechtComment: Very professional - reminiscent of many postcards and posters I have seen along similar lines. (I'm not saying that's a bad thing, I don't think everything under the sun has to be a unique new idea in order to be appealing). I think you've made a great job - lighting works, clean background works and layout works very well. |

Half Past Nineby Dax-Comment: What a beautiful image! Really like your use of complementary colours and of light and deep shadows. The bokeh is beautiful in quality. The composition works well. And the ambience is richly whimsical, like the beginning of a story recounted by a deep timbred voice. 9! |

A window to the Soul.by MattOComment: My favourite of the eye macros in this challenge - I like the choice of which part of the image to leave in focus and the wonderful softness of the blurred areas. Nice composition too. 9 |

Raining Chainsby MAKComment: I love this shot - I love the bokek circles, I love the chains, I love the background colour and texture and I love the composition. Really nice use of shallow DOF. 9 |

hopeby ursulaComment: It's the lovely colour palette plus the textures that draw me to this image. I like the contrast between the harsh, brown colours of the foreground item and the softer pinkey browns of the background one. I also like that the background one is positioned to be like a surreal shadow to the foreground one. 8 |

Wide Openby dogzComment: Creative use of shallow DOF to really pull our focus in to the detail and "texture" of the original etched design. Composition works too. 9 |

FreeYourMindby sOn3tComment: Minimalistic brilliance - each detail contributing to the whole. I love the way the shallow DOF makes the strands of fence wire thicker, thinner and invisible in turn depending on distance. I like the sharp detail of the wire knot and it's position within the frame. I like the circle of light at the bottom. I like thje position of the fence post towards the lower right. Great image! 9 |
