The Path to Furi (Zermatt, BW)by NeilComment: ON this B/W version I think you've pulled the darks on the shed up too high; it looks unnatural to the extreme. It's a lovely image, however :-) |

The Early Birdby owenComment: This is bizarre coloring, but it's working for me. I only wish the ship and the bird weren't in alignment, that the bird were a bit to the left and the ship way more to the right, to produce an implied diagonal. Still, you get what you can getm when you can get it :-) One of my high scores. |

Early Morning Sydney by FirstyComment: This is extremely well done. The luminosity of it is remarkable. My first reaction to the greenish tone was pretty negative, but it has since grown on me. I might have cropped just a smidgeon off the left to lose that single, on-the-edge bright spot... bumping way up, and good luck. |

Old fisherman's hutby ArnarHComment: For what it's worth, I believe this is a "drying shack" where the catch was hung out to dry; thus the slatted sides. That's neither here nor there, though. I wish you had managed a little better detail and richness in the shack itself. The composition and the mist are very nice indeed. Also, a true duotone by my definition, unlike many in this challenge. |

Yacht Raceby GringoComment: Cool! One of the very few decent sailing shots I've seen on DPC; gives a real sense of "being there". Do you race sailboats? You might be interested to know that my first career was as a sailmaker; in the late 60's and early 70's I worked for North Sails in spinnaker research and development. I was a serious sailboat racer for many years, a long-time member of San Diego Yacht Club and one of the backup crew on two America's Cup campaigns, Gerry Driscoll's and one of Dennis's... |

landfall.jpgby Bear_MusicComment: Originally posted by ShutterPug: Beautiful sunset image Robert. Anyway you could bring out a bit of detail to the ground on the left? |
I CAN, but I don't want to. I like the darkness. It's very dark anyway, no direct light at all, but I could pull up more detail if I wanted to, a little bit anyway. I actually have dodged it a fair amount to make the house more visible; anything lighter seems unnatural to me.
BTW it's a sunrise, as it happens. |

Forlorn Hopeby sjohnstonComment: One of the more original entries. I quite like it at the conceptuallevel, and you seem aware of the rechnical "flaws", such as they are... |
