This is a lovely image, but it bothers me, for this challenge, that you have made no attempt to fit the image into the context of the original challenge, which was "duotones"; had you done a BW conversion into duotone, I'd have scored this near the top.

Personally, I can't believe this didn't take the blue by a mile. In my opinion, it's far and away the best entry photographically and also meets the challenge "better", or at least more viscerally, than anybody else did. Nevertheless, killer finish!

The "duotone" aspect of it is just an overlay on the process, nothing new there. The dodge/burn and gradient work has already been incorporated; each separate channel layer has been worked on on the layer mask to that effect. This is a relatively muted rendering, for sure. I am going to try a more aggressive version, this was just the first runthrough.

I'm surprised nobody commented on the Tri-X vs XXX pun in the title...

Jejejeā„¢ Next time I'll do one with an open mouth and 'shop out my tongue, so I'll be blind, deaf, and mute :-)

I like the picture, but the title bothers me because this is NOT "weaving", it is "needlepoint".

I guess it's all relative, but from my perspective (61 yrs of age) TURQUOISE Converses are new-wave, not old-wave. In the day, they came in your choice of colors as long as it was black :-)

It's a nice shot though :-) And they are certainly a throwback design. I'm not dinging you for this, just reminiscing...
