Ode to Anselby limerickComment: That's not a bad attempt at all :-) You have very nice luminosity in the rose and good detail working in the darker parts of the wood. He did make images similar to this, though they are not as well known. |

Glad to be a Dadby glad2badadComment: The rendering is wonderful, the cropping is most unfortunate. The pinewood box, the Dremel Motor box, the scale, and the man's head and elbow, all are truncated. By contrast, the boy is fully developed, as if HE were the subject of the image, yet your title suggests otherwise. So it's sending me confusing messages.
If it were my image, I'd probably have moved the camera lower so I could make this shot with the workbench occupying less real estate, and I've had been sure to include all of dad's head.
One last thing: in the BG, there's a yellow container and a yellow can (of woodstain I think) and these are REAL eyetraps, because you have developed a compositional triangle comprised of two heads and the work project, and the yellow objects are smack in the center of that, so they are really drawing the eye.
Sorry for all the nits, because I like the picture, love the processing, but I wish it were fully living up to its potential. |

Cannibalism...by RitaDComment: I have voted all the entries and done my first pass adjusting: at this point, this is one of two 10's I have awarded, though I expect there will be a few more. This is just an outstanding capture, in the pure sense of the word: WHAT a moment! My only quibble is that you didn't dodge up the staring eye a little bit, I'd love to have it pop a tad and draw my attention. In any event, this is one of those images that makes you go "Holy Moley!" for the sheer con tent of it, and I'm rewarding it commensurately. |

I think this is a wonderful, thoughtful image. I am particularly taken by the way you allowed her shoulder to eclipse the corner of the frame, creating a connection between viewer and viewed. Well done! |

Salzburgby jrtoddComment: I wish it weren't leaning to the right... I find it very distracting. Otherwise, a beautifully rendered scene, though one wonders why thee's so little color in both sky and water... |
