..pass through the gate..by mshimer5Comment: This one is gaining favor with me big-time. I doubt it's scoring well for you, which is a pity, because there's so much to love here. I'm guessing lensbaby, which is a real plus courage-wise :-) I love the intricate interleaving of sharp/soft/sharp/soft in this sweeping, emotive image. Bumping to 8. |

Song of the Southby jmsetzlerComment: I'm totally liking this as I come back to it. I failed to comment on first pass, but it's been at 7 and I am bumping to 8. You've created a quiet, understated, intensely human image that resonates with me. The tonalities are wonderful overall. To my eye, it looks like the face has been dodged just a little too much, it just seems a hair too light, but that's a quibble. |

A Stitch In Timeby L2Comment: I'm really surprised this did so poorly. Got a 9 from me, I think it's absolutely excellent. Good to see your "trip" paid off with such a quality image. |

Sepulchreby hesitantComment: Beautifully made. I'm surprised it didn't score better. I imagine many monitors are too dark for this one to display well, though. Good work! |

My Two Centsby nozlComment: You did remarkably well for such a simple image. As a one-time serious stamp collector myself, this resonated with me. It's very well crafted, and you should be proud of it. A 7 from me. |

Sunset Strollby tmhallingComment: This is just ephemeral. I wonder how it's doing? It's so understated it's probably being overlooked, but I like it very much. The quality of the water, that's SUCH a hard thing to capture, to make it soft instead of harsh. But what really sets this image into a special class is the drop-off to the right. If it were just a straightish landline, left to right, then it's a nice shot but nothing more. But something about that dropoff is just SO compelling; no wonder the figures are headed that way :-) Good luck with this one! |
