Sinking of the Jesus of Lubeckby seeComment: Gotta hand it to ya for the allusive title, dude. History buff? (I presume this is Treasure Island in Las Vegas, and that's the Hispaniola burning?) Message edited by author 2010-02-10 08:51:15. |

At the Beachby vladoComment: This is outstanding work. I actually didn't vote this challenge, but I'd have given this a 9 for it's faded, other-timely atmosphere alone. |

Islamorada, L'isola violaby CoryComment: Just remembered to check this as I'm judging the side-challenge entries, and I have to say I'm surprised the score's that low. Still, you learned a lot, and that's what matters :-) |

Surface Waveby zeuszenComment: I'll echo that, "seriously good". Got an 8 from me, and made me come back for several looks during the week. What particularly struck me is, which is the surface and which the ground, which is the wave and which is the substrate? I love ambiguity, I find it more and more in the simplest things as I age, though I've yet to find the courage (?) to attempt to render it. |

grandfatherby KineComment: An 8 from me, remarkable image and perfectly matter-of-fact presentation. The door, for me, both echos the face and represents the dawning end of life. Wonderful image. For me, the chopping of the arm is in effect the counter-expression of the door; pieces are missing, the end is near, the exit awaits. It resonates with me because I juts lost my father exactly a year ago, and pieces of him were disappearing in some strange way as we watched. Message edited by author 2010-01-29 14:22:33. |

oneby nixterComment: I figured this has to be you, and I was right :-) One of my 10's. Faceless feets, faithful rendering, and the arrow just makes the image, a grace note par excellence. Ridiculously low score, my sympathies. |

Yby freakin_hilariousComment: I'd have expected a lot better out of this, score wise. I gave it an 8 myself. It's intricate and vaguely mystifying. It feels like dragonfly wings, but appears to be a skeletal leaf. I enjoyed studying it, repeatedly. |
