a is for artby SkipComment: I thought it was fantastic. I gave it an 8. I wonder how much of the negativity stems from the fact that "art", in this case, is not a subject you photographed but, rather, a description of the result. I'm sure that didn't fly well. But a fine, fine image.
ETA:
Come to think of it, is that an Art Museum? LOL... Message edited by author 2010-05-17 01:42:31. |

a p p e r c e p t i o nby rooumComment: You got an 8 from me with this amazing image. For the longest time I saw it as a figure walking in a tunnel, and then apperception set in and I saw the eye for what it was. and is. lovely work. |

Freeby amonteforteComment: That's a strange title, for me: I see this work of art as depicting Icarus falling to his death, conflated with Christ crucified (the pose), and for me this does NOT denote "freedom" in any way. I suppose one's mileage could differ. In any event, I do not deduct for what I consider inapt titles, although I sometimes bonus for excellent ones. |

Rainy pinkby MelethiaComment: Whoa, that's sweet :-) I've shot a lot of wet roses, but never made one look this heavy... But I know exactly what it's like, that sense of being weighted down. This one was shot back in 2002 with my Fuji P&S...

vawendyby jcarComment: Well, mom looks happy :-) You have good sharpness. It would be a nice project for you to learn about flash diffusers, like cut a slit in a ping-pong ball and snap it over the flash head, this will soften the shadows up. You have an issue, also, with the blacks swallowing up the image. Also, if you'd removed the lens cap you wouldn't have that silly little white dot showing, but that's a nit.
The main thing is, the picture shows the milk of human warmth :-) And it looks a little more natural than a kid talking on a banana, jejejeā¢
