Resting in Calm Watersby louinsdComment: Nice work, Lou! I knew this was SD when I saw it, I know exactly where it was shot from too :-)
If you can send me the original file I'll show you how to fix the color cast on the hull. You can mail it to bear_music@yahoo.com
And tell me what programs you are editing with... |

Deer Ridge Trailby hahn23Comment: Very nicely done, Richard. The luminosity in the red/yellow range is exceptionally well handled. For my tastes, the sky's a little less so; it seems a bit flat & dark to me, but that's pretty much a personal, aesthetic judgment; I'm sure others would disagree. And those same others might find my skys-with-gradients entirely overdone :-)
Lovely shot! |

...Awayby PaulComment: I'm coming back to this via your story in the proposal thread, which caused me to check out your ribbons to see who your wife was (babe!) and thus caused me to see this headless romper, and to notice I'd given you a 10 and failed to comment, which I usually do when I give 10's, so better late than never as I tell you how much I loved this unadulterated blast intense movement and all its metaphorical baggage :-) |

Passing Squall, Herring River by Bear_MusicComment: Originally posted by LevT: congratulations, Robert! The first place could get away with a 4s exposure at 800ISO, and you needed 66s at 1600. Rural life is harder :). |
I was about to comment on that, over there :-) Not only that, he was stopped down a stop and a half more. It really has me scratching my head, mainly over how he managed a blue sky... I mean, if the sky's lit by ambient reflected light, wouldn't be a much warmer color? CF my clouds... It's all a mystery to me :-) |

Manhattan Bridge by nutzitoComment: You know, at the time of voting I wasn't all that impressed with this, it seemed a bit of a "pretty yawner" to me, but it is growing on me now. Technically it's just very well done. You got your flashes, me I just paint with a penlight LOL. Big congrats on the blue! |

Golden Gooseby cpanaiotiComment: Second what Alice says; it's fundamentally beautiful, but try something like this: Created a new, empty layer set to multiply mode with "fill with multiply-neutral color (white)" checked. Use the gradient tool, set to linear gradient, with black and white as foreground and background colors, and stroke in from the edges to precisely the center 4 times, once from each edge. Then fade this layer to suit. If it darkens the corners too much, set the gradient to a box gradient and repeat, that will be even all around the perimeter. |

Perfect Blue Buildingsby MelethiaComment: One has just noticed white splotches on the stucco behind and above the bike's rear wheel, such that one can easily imagine it's a velocipede and those are little puff-puff clouds from a tiny one-lunger of a French engine :-) |
