Don't Try This At Homeby Travis99Comment: Remarkably well-balanced in every respect, not least of which is the true horizontal of the wand. The guiy's expression makes the picture. One wonders what he's looking at, up therte somewhere, and the sense of anticipation is palpable. Flawless rendition of the flames. The protruding thumb is an essential element of the composition. I admire this very much. |

Untrained Eyeby casualguyComment: The title is a lovely pun, the image is delightfully down-key. I don't suppose it will finish above the middle of the pack, but I am very fond of it. |

bravadoby ellamayComment: Fine action/animal capture. Did you try upping the yellow component on the grass a hair? It seems a little flat to me, color-wise. |

Quiet Pond in Infraredby hyperfocalComment: Serene and evocative, suffering a bit for lack od separation of trees in middle distance from clouds behind them, making the image lose a significant amount of "depth". |

Hayden Valleyby GallatinComment: Nice sensitivity to light, a pleasing and well-composed landscape. I wish the frightmost curve of the river were not so perfectly tangent to the right edge of the frame; I's like to see a whisper of yellow grasses there. |

He is mineby vasilkovayaComment: This is extremely sweet and effective. I suspect it won't do as well as I think it ought to, but I'd be proud of it if it were mine. the focus plane is spot-on, the cropping of the man's face is wonderful. The vertical component of the oof background, being slightly skewed, is a little off-putting to me. I'd have tried a hair more blur there, perhaps... |

Seneca Lake Sunsetby ClickNSeeComment: Very eeire, painterly rendering. There's an overall greenish hue that I find slightly off, and it's losing a hair too much detail to the left for my tastes. Just a whisper of dodging on the left, and a selection at the forward treeline to drop some green out of the BG would do wonders for me I think. Not much, just a little... |
