Sydneyby FirstyComment: In many ways I love this picture. The boat's wake is starlingly effective. My 2 main beegs are that it is leaning over to the right, needs ccw rotation, and that the sky has been softened where it wants to be crystal sharp. A strong entry. |

Just A Roseby ccaseyComment: Your tonal range here is rich and plapable, virtually perfect for the image. It's a little too soft for an AA emulation, he was the antithesis of soft focuse, pictorialist-type images. Nevertheless, a strong entry. |

Low Tideby floydComment: Rich and serene. there's much to admire here. a couple comments: The POV would be better if placed so the large boat and the end of the pier don't dovetail so precisely; a little to the left and a little lower, with the camera, ought to do it. Also, the pier's been leveled but the horizon is falling off and the the structures on the pier are leaning over likewise. a quarter or hald degree ccq rotation would help immensely.
The sky could be contained better upper right and upper left both, also.
A strong entry. |

Weathered Eleganceby K-RobComment: Very, very nice. Very much in the Weston/Adams mode, and you're to be commended for not exagerrating the contrast. It's a little lacking in critical sharpness, and the DOF is falling off upper left; an AA picxture would have both those under control. 9 |

Having Funby docpjvComment: Incredibly vivid colors. I'm surprised this didn't fare better. It's almost hyper-real. |

Taking a breakby JeanComment: Great tonalities and mood here. It's dark, yes, but it feels right to me. The face needs to be a fair bit lighter, though, for the composition really to work. |
